Theatre Off The Square has issued a casting call for its upcoming production of “Nunsense.”
The play was written by Dan Goggin and produced by special arrangement with Samuel French Inc. Darla Robinson will direct.
This faith-based, full-length musical comedy is a winner of four Critics Circle Awards including Best Off Broadway Musical in its original New York production.
The story is about a fundraiser put on by the Little Sisters of Hoboken to raise money to bury sisters accidentally poisoned by the convent cook, Sister Julia. This internationally known hit will have you laughing as you enjoy the hilarious situations and wonderful music.
Five women ages 20 and older will be cast to play the following characters: Sister and Mother Superior Mary Regina; Sister Mary Hubert, second in command; Sister Robert Anne; Sister Mary Amnesia; and Sister Mary Leo, novice and wants to become the first nun ballerina.
Auditions are 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 6., and Tuesday, Jan. 7. Call backs will be on Wednesday, Jan. 8, also at 6:30 p.m. All auditions will be in the Green Room at Theatre Off The Square, 114 N. Denton, in Weatherford. The phone number is 817-341-8687.
Because this is a musical, Jan. 6, will be singing auditions, and each actor must bring sheet music and be prepared to audition with the pianist. Everyone must audition both Monday and Tuesday and be able to attend callbacks that Wednesday.
Rehearsals begin Feb. 3. Production dates are March 14-30. Curtain time is 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
