— WOMAN ACCUSED OF THEFT

A man living in the 200 block of College Park Drive said a woman, while at his residence Thursday morning, took his cell phone and a debit card, using the card several times to make unauthorized charges totaling $250.



DWI, RESISTING ARREST

A driver called Weatherford police Thursday to the 1700 block of South Main Street to investigate a possibly intoxicated driver who was reportedly swerving in the roadway and whose pickup nearly hit the caller’s vehicle. The suspect’s vehicle was stopped and the driver, James Vernon Smith, 49, of Weatherford, was determined to be driving while intoxicated. He also resisted offers, according to WPD reports. Smith remained in Parker County Jail on Saturday under bonds totaling $4,500 on charges of DWI and resisting arrest or transport.



DOMESTIC ASSAULT ARREST

Parker County sheriff’s deputies were called late Thursday morning to a residence in the 300 block of Pickard Lane in reference to a domestic disturbance. There deputies met with a 29-year-old man who said his girlfriend, Kati Jo Martin, 25, hit him in the head with an unknown object and scratched him in the face. Martin was arrested for misdemeanor assault causing bodily injury to a family member. She was placed in Parker County Jail under $2,500 bond on that charge and $2,000 bond on a theft charge filed in McLennan County.
