By CHRISTIN COYNE

COOL – A man reportedly struck by a vehicle on U.S. Highway 180 Thursday evening received only minor injuries and was arrested on a DWI charge after his release from the hospital.

Texas Department of Public Safety troopers responded to an incident around 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Mineral Wells Highway near Farm-to-Market Road 113.

A red Dodge pickup ran off the roadway into the median, according to DPS Senior Trooper Gary Rozzell, who said the driver, Gary Michael Wooten, 32, of Mineral Wells, reported he was walking across the highway when a silver truck struck him.

Mineral Wells EMS transported Wooten, who complained of an injury to his ankle, to Palo Pinto General Hospital in Mineral Wells, where he was evaluated and released, according to DPS.

Wooten, who had three outstanding traffic warrants, was then arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, second offense, Rozzell said. He remained in the Parker County Jail Saturday afternoon.
