Weatherford Christian School never dreamed that after receiving a gift of $250,000 in November that they would meet and surpass their project goal of $366,000 for the new educational wing at its secondary campus in just five short weeks.

Following the lead gift, four additional donors stepped forward, giving more than $52,000 to help close the gap for the non-denominational Christian school and put WCS closer to having the project fully funded.

On Friday, WCS was notified a donor made a gift of $100,000 towards the growth and expansion at the secondary campus located at 2300 Ranger Highway.

“We are truly ecstatic with the gifts that have been recently received for this project and encouraged by the belief from others in what we are trying to accomplish at WCS.” said Director of Development Leslie Chalmers. “Building donor relations has been one of our main focuses over the last four years and we have put a tremendous amount of time and effort into developing those relationships.”

This gift not only meets the project budget but will enable the school to build additional space needed because of the 35 percent student population growth seen since February. The educational wing will house students in fourth thru eighth grades and is slated for completion in late spring of this year.
