The Weatherford Parks and Recreation Department is happy to announce a new partnership with the Parker County Tennis Association, one which will surely help bring success to each organization.
Construction is currently underway on four new youth tennis courts at Soldier Spring Park.
“The new courts will be an excellent amenity to help our local youth learn the ageless sport of tennis and sharpen their skills,” stated Tyler Sievert of Weatherford’s PARD.
The grand opening for the new courts is expected around the first week of June, just in time for the PCTA’s Youth Tennis Camp.
Camps will take place June 9-13 and will offer three age groups: 6-8 years, 9-10 years and 11-14 years. Each age group is limited to the first 24 participants. The registration cost of the camp is $44, which will cover the cost of instructors, awards, balls, a T-shirt and a for-fun tournament on the final day.
City of Weatherford residents who provide proof of residency with their Weatherford utility bill and their driver’s license with a matching address will receive a discount.
Registration begins April 14 at the Parks and Recreation office, 119 Palo Pinto St., and continue until all age groups are filled.
