Freedom House has received a grant from the Texas Bar Foundation to provide assistance to victims of sexual violence so they can be restored as healthy productive community members. This includes immediate crisis intervention services, accompaniment for emergency medical assistance or to law enforcement, provision of information about their rights and accompaniment for legal assistance. It also includes therapy for both adults and children.
Freedom House services victims of violent crime, especially victims of family and sexual violence in Parker County. This includes men, women, girls and boys. Freedom House also has a shelter when victims need to find safety. Freedom House has prevention programs that work toward changing behaviors that can lead to violence.
Because of the funding from the Texas Bar Foundation, Freedom House will be able to outreach further so more victims of sexual violence can have the opportunity to receive help. Freedom House is grateful to the Texas Bar Foundation for this grant. Freedom House receives funding from state and federal sources but not enough to fully fund this program.
Since its inception in 1965, the Texas Bar Foundation has awarded more than $15 million in grants to law-related programs.
