WAA to welcome artist Jacob

The Weatherford Art Association will hold its monthly meeting for January at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 27, at the Firehouse Gallery, 119 Palo Pinto St.

Texas artist DeBob Jacob, of Maypearl, will be the guest artist. The public is invited to attend.

Jacob has been working and teaching painting and sculpture for more than 25 years. She is, in her own words, “proud to be a painter,” adding, “I paint in celebration of, and in gratitude for, the many wonders I have seen.”

Jacob has won numerous awards and honors, and participated in many shows throughout the southwestern United States. She has appeared in the top 200 of the Arts in the Park show for the past five years and she has been a recipient of the prestigious Bosque art grant. In the 2007 An Artist’s Christmas, Jacob earned the Best Traditional Award.

Jacob earned an associate’s degree in Art and continued her professional education at the Cowboy Artists of America Museum in Kerrville. American Women Artists now have a representative on the AWA board of directors after Jacob joined the board in June.
