Billie June Cox, 2013 Ms. Senior Parker County, recently gathered with 2014 contestants for the annual information Tea held at Holland Lake Nursing Center Wed. April 23. Contestants and their sponsors include: Ivy Chandler, IntegraCare Home Health & Hospice; Vera Armstrong, Wright Chiropractic Health Center; Nancy Russell, Char-De-Na Acres; Kaye Albanese, Brilliant Medical Boutique; Rev. Linda Lee Wilkins, Beyond Faith HomeCare; Rita Ogden, SBW Dozer; Kathleen Wildwood, Craig’s Music; Carol Brock, Holland Lake Nursing Center; Azalee Tatum, Alpha Omega Hospice; and Valerie Hartwig, Budders Storage.
Billie June told the ladies about her year-long reign and how many fun events she attended and the support she garnered for the Meals–on-Wheels Program of Parker County.
The 13th Annual Pageant will be held Saturday, May 3 at 7 p.m. at the Alkek Auditorium at Weatherford College. Tickets are $10 each and may be purchased from any of the contestants or at Holland Lake Nursing Center. Contestant selling the most tickets wins a nice prize. All proceeds from the pageant go to Parker County Meals-on-Wheels. The event is managed by volunteers and no one is paid, allowing all the money collected to be used to feed less fortunate older adults of Parker County.
