— GLEN ROSE, Texas (AP) — A car filled with members of a Texas Panhandle family veered head-on into a minivan loaded with a North Texas family, killing four and injuring seven others from both vehicles.
The Texas Department of Public Safety says the crash happened about 1:15 p.m. Friday 11 miles west of Glen Rose on U.S. 67, an undivided four-lane highway with a 70 mph speed limit. DPS Trooper Dub Gillum says the eastbound car for unknown reasons veered into the westbound minivan's path.
Gillum says three members of a suburban Fort Worth family died in the minivan and three teenage passengers were injured. A Stratford woman died in the minivan. Her husband, who was driving, and three passengers were injured.
The injured went to hospitals in Fort Worth, 50 miles to the northeast.
