Clark Gardens will be the setting for a photography workshop for young people ages 10-15 years of age.
The classes are 9 a.m. to noon on July 11, 18 and 25. The deadline to sign up is Tuesday, July 9.
The cost is $20 for Clark Gardens members and $30 for non-members.
Local photographer Teresa Montalvo will be teaching basic photography skills, photography etiquette, basic computer editing and organizing and basic photo care in a classroom setting.
Part of the workshop hours will be spent in an informal stroll through the gardens helping the budding artist capture nature at its best.
This one-on-one teaching will provide further understanding of composition and proper lighting. Practical application and practice, practice, practice is the ultimate learning tool.
This workshop is not intended for the casual pastime summer activity, but it is an opportunity to spend time with a photographer who has developed her craft and believes every day is an opportunity to learn something new.
Tools needed for the photography class: digital camera; instruction manual; plenty of charged batteries; two memory cards; note pad; pen or pencil; small photo album that holds at least 36 4x6 photos; small package of 3x5 index cards; and a backpack that holds all the supplies.
Nonrefundable, pre-paid reservations are required. In the event the class is cancelled due to weather, participants will receive a full refund.
Fees may be paid online via PayPal, or with a credit card by phone (940) 682-4856), or in person at the Clark Gardens admissions booth.
