Parker County Judge Mark Riley issued an emergency order Monday morning banning outdoor burning in Parker County.
“The state establishes the criteria that counties have to follow in issuing burn bans based on drought conditions,” Riley said. “Parker County has now met that threshold.”
During a specially called meeting scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Friday, the Parker County Commissioners Court is expected to consider extending the burn ban for 30 days.
Violations of the burning prohibition, which goes through July 15, are punishable by a fine of up to $500.
