WILLOW PARK – A 79-year-old pilot forced to land at the Trinity Meadows Race Track in Willow Park Tuesday afternoon was not seriously injured.
Jack Barnett, who said he has about 50 years of flying experience, had to put down his small plane after losing a propeller, according to family members and a friend.
Barnett, who declined an ambulance trip to the hospital, was reported to be sore but OK.
The plane landed in the grassy center of the race course, coming to rest in a small creekbed running through the center.
The propeller was not immediately located.
Barnett, who lives in Benbrook and reportedly flies at least once a week, houses his plane at Bourland Field Airport near Cresson and was believed to be on his way to Weatherford, according to family members.
