Millsap names new elementary assistant principal

WEATHERFORD — Staff Report

Millsap ISD has announced the selection of Roxie Bean as assistant principal for Millsap Elementary School. Millsap ISD trustees approved Bean’s selection at the regular meeting on June 23.

Bean has been the counselor at Millsap Elementary School since 2008. She began her career at Millsap teaching second, fourth and fifth grades from 1998-2008. She was selected as Millsap Elementary Teacher of the Year in 2005 and received the Bulldog Spirit Award in 2013. Bean earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Tarleton State University in 1995. She completed her Master of Education degree in 2009 from Tarleton State University.

Millsap Elementary Principal Cathy Bradshaw said she is excited to work with Bean in her new role.

“Millsap Elementary is pleased that Mrs. Roxie Bean has been named as the assistant principal,” Bradshaw said. “Mrs. Bean has served Millsap Elementary for 16 years as a teacher and counselor. She has been an asset in various roles and is very committed to the success for each student at our school.”

Superintendent David Belding said, “Millsap ISD is fortunate to have someone with Mrs. Bean’s experience and passion to serve in the role of assistant principal at our elementary school. There were many qualified candidates and Mrs. Bean proved to be the best fit for our school. She is focused on student success and is committed to inspiring, developing and educating every student to achieve their potential. She is trusted by parents, students and staff and will do an excellent job.”

“I’m so excited to serve the students of Millsap Elementary in my new role as assistant principal,” Bean added. “I would like to especially thank the entire staff of Millsap Elementary for their overwhelming support on this new adventure. I would also like to thank Mrs. Cathy Bradshaw and the school board of Millsap ISD for the opportunity to serve in this new capacity. I’m so proud to be a Bulldog.”
