POLICE BLOTTER: Marijuana found on juveniles in school zone

DWI arrest

A report of a car driving erratically, including striking a curb several times, led to police stopping a tan Lincoln vehicle around 9:22 p.m. Sunday in the 1200 block of East Spring Street. The driver, Jerme Felix Casarez, 19, of Springtown, was arrested for driving while intoxicated. The vehicle was impounded.

Parker County Jail records show he was released Monday afternoon after posting $1,000.

Machine burglary

A soft drink vending machine was reportedly burglarized sometime late Friday or early Saturday in the 2500 block of South Main Street. Damage to the machine was placed at $100.

Under K2 influence

Following an intoxicated driver report at 8:17 p.m. Saturday, Weatherford police found a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer in the 200 block of Thrush Street and contacted the driver, identified as  David Poer, 18, of Weatherford, and a passenger, identified as Colton Bigham, 18, of Weatherford. The officer said both had “slurred speech and large pupils” and he “observed them to both move lethargic.” The officer said both claimed to having smoked synthetic marijuana, known as K2. Several packages of K2 and other paraphernalia were reportedly seized. Both were arrested and charged with public intoxication and later released from Parker County Jail.

Burglary


Deputies Friday afternoon responded to the 10000 block of FM Road 1886, Azle, on a report of a burglary. The complainant said sometime after 5:30 p.m. Thursday someone entered his property and stole numerous items. A barn located on the property was also broken into. The value of the items stolen is estimated to be around $21,000.

Tools theft

The theft of power tools from a mason trailer was reported Friday in the 300 block of Sugar Tree Circle, Lipan, at a reported loss of $2,500.

Theft at jail

A woman said a known suspect stole $130 from her purse while she was visiting her son at the Parker County Jail.

    The Texas AgriLife Extension Service of Parker County will offer parenting classes on Aug. 19 and 21, 2014, at the Parker County Agricultural Services Center. The classes will be from 1-5 p.m. each day and will include lunch. The cost to attend the class is $10 per person for the two-day class. Scholarships are available.
