Parker County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division is investigating two theft cases that occurred this past weekend.
The first incident was reported Sunday around 7:30 a.m. in the 100 block of Rainbow Trail, near State Highway 199, in Springtown.
The complainant told deputies sometime overnight someone damaged a meter box and stole about 150 feet of aluminum wiring running electricity to a building on the property. The suspect, or suspects, apparently cut a section of PVC pipe containing the wire in order to gain access to the wiring. The damage and loss of property equaled about $2,000.
The second incident was reported a few hours later, around 10 a.m., in the 100 block of Land of Goshen, also in Springtown. An employee of Patterson UTI reported someone entered the property by cutting a fence and stole several thousand dollars worth of materials from the complex.
The employee stated a 50-pound copper plate was taken, valued at $3,000. The damage to the fence resulted in an additional $1,500 loss.
