Celebrating its sixth anniversary event, the Healthy Woman program, sponsored by Weatherford Regional Medical Center, will host comedian and motivational speaker, Kelly Swanson.

This year’s event is Tuesday, Sept. 17, at Southwest Ford and includes a women’s health expo from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., followed by dinner and one-woman show Kelly Swanson.

An award-winning storyteller, Swanson, will give an encouraging and uplifting talk about what to do when a fairy tale life doesn’t turn out the way it’s planned. In her show, “Who Hijacked My Fairy Tale,” titled after her popular book, attendees will learn how to cultivate a balance between the life they envisioned and the life they got.

According to Swanson, “We all reach potholes in the yellow brick road of life – where we get stuck between our vision and our reality. It’s not the obstacle that brings us down, but how we choose to react to it.”

Nadia Nazeer, Healthy Woman Coordinator adds “Swanson will encourage women to laugh their way to a healthier ever-after.”

The Healthy Woman Advisory Council, consisting of 10 community businesswomen, is excited about putting on another great anniversary event. They dedicate many hours leading up to the event to make sure it turns out as glamorous and fun as Parker County deserves.

Tickets are $25 per person and went on sale July 1. Partnership opportunities are available for businesses that would like to participate with a booth at the event or sponsor a table of eight.
