POLICE BLOTTER: Weatherford police log busy weekend of calls


The officer on duty arrived and reportedly saw Ross standing next to the truck and said Ross had “a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and person.”

Ross was taken into custody on the charge.


At 11:49 p.m. Saturday an officer reportedly made a traffic stop on a 2005 Chevrolet pick up truck for defective license plate light in the 2000 block  of Fort Worth Highway.

Two juveniles were in the vehicle, and the officer reportedly saw an open container of alcohol inside. Upon searching the vehicle the officer reported finding marijuana and two glass pipes inside. A 16-year-old male juvenile was detained for possession of marijuana less 2 ounces.


A man who was reportedly looking inside people’s garages Saturday afternoon in the 100 block of West Weatherford Street was arrested for public intoxication.

Christopher D. Morris, 26, was arrested for public intoxication, police said, adding he had at least three previous public intoxication convictions.


Around 2:15 p.m. Sunday, a resident in the 100 block of Mockingbird Lane said the driver of an unknown vehicle apparently lost control, drove into his yard and struck a sandstone flower bed, then drove away, causing $2,500 damage.

12:32 p.m., domestic disturbance, 200 block of West Bridge Street.

10:46 p.m., suspicious vehicle, 1400 block of Holland Drive.

10:52 p.m., suspicious vehicle, 1 600 block of Holland Drive.


12:35 a.m., suspicious person, 1400 block of Holland Drive.

1:07 a.m., suspicious vehicle, 2200 block of Browder Lane.

1:55 a.m., suspicious person, 1200 block of South Main Street.

2:16 a.m., loud music, 400 block of Shannon Street.

8:20 a.m., domestic disturbance, 700 E. Anderson Street.

8:36 a.m., person with weapon, 200 block of Atwood Court.

12:57 p.m., domestic disturbance, 1800 block of Fort Worth Highway.

1:30 p.m., suspicious vehicle, 100 block of East Interstate 20.

10:40 p.m., disturbance, 100 block of West Lee Avenue.

11:44 p.m., suspicious vehicle, 100 block of Meadowview Drive.

    The Texas AgriLife Extension Service of Parker County will offer parenting classes on Aug. 19 and 21, 2014, at the Parker County Agricultural Services Center. The classes will be from 1-5 p.m. each day and will include lunch. The cost to attend the class is $10 per person for the two-day class. Scholarships are available.
