POLICE BLOTTER: vehicle burglary, meth arrest among reports

Following are some of the offenses, investigations and calls for service reported by Weatherford police for the period 6 a.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday.

Vehicle burglary

A man said his work truck was burglarized in the 200 block of Alford Street between 9 p.m. Monday and 6 a.m. Tuesday. Taken were two Magger electrical test sets inside hard, gray shipping cases valued at approximately $10,000 a piece, or $20,000 for both.

Drug arrest

An officer stopped a 2006 Mazda early Thursday morning in the 1000 block of Franklin Street for defective headlights. The officer said the driver, Jennifer Michelle Gebert, 29, had an outstanding WPD warrant for theft.

The officer said Gebert was also found in possession of 1 gram of methamphetamine, four straws and a meth pipe. Gebert was arrested on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.

9:35 a.m., harassment, 300 block of West Third Street.

10:19 a.m., drugs, 1000 block of South Main Street.

12:17 p.m., minor wreck, 2200 block of Old Dennis Road.

1:39 p.m., scam/fraud, 1000 block of Duke Street.

1:44 p.m., minor wreck, 700 block of Adams Drive.

2:44 p.m., disturbance, 2100 block of Bethel Road.

3:55 p.m., suspicious vehicle, 500 block of Fegan Street.

5:05 p.m., disturbance, 200 block of West Bridge Street.

Thursday

12:37 a.m., suspicious person, 1000 block of Franklin Street.

1:54 a.m., suspicious vehicle, 1400 block of Holland Lake Drive.

3 a.m., suspicious vehicle, 1900 block of Martin Drive.

3:46 a.m., suspicious vehicle, 100 block of East Interstate 20.

  • Accidental shooting reported

    Parker County deputies say a shooting that injured a man in the 8500 block of FM Road 1886 shortly after 5 p.m. Friday was reported to be accidental.

    Lily Youngblood, a Garner Elementary first grade student, was recently honored as one of the top 100 young artists in Texas by the Texas Art Education Association. Lily and her parents, Kristi and Clay Youngblood, traveled to the Bob Bullock Texas History Museum in Austin where students from across Texas came together for the award ceremony and reception.

    In recognition on National Volunteer Week, the Weatherford Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association held their Annual Awards ceremony April 9 at the city council chambers. Presidential Service awards were given out to members as well as years of service awards, followed up by a presentation of volunteer hours for 2013 to the City of Weatherford.
