Man unhurt after pickup, trailer end up in creek

By CHRISTIN COYNE

PARKER COUNTY – A driver whose truck and travel trailer went off the roadway into a creek in northeast Parker County around 2 p.m. Wednesday was uninjured and able to get of the vehicle before the cab submerged.

Brian Daudeansky, 36, the lone occupant of the vehicles, said he was southbound in the 1800 block of Church Road when his brakes didn’t seem to work as he was traveling around the second portion of the S-curve in the roadway.

The four-door Ford F-350 ended up nearly entirely under water and the travel trailer was partially filled.

He was wearing his seat belt and was able to manually roll down the window when the truck door wouldn’t open, the driver said, adding that it took about 15 minutes for the cab to submerge.

Though emergency personnel said the level of the creek was relatively low Wednesday, authorities were still on scene hours later attempting to remove the vehicles. The first attempt involving two tow trucks.

It’s the second time this year that a vehicle has traveled into the creek and retention pond near the bend in the road.

A man reportedly successfully escaped his pickup and swam out of the water in March after driving into the water near the curve. The top of the truck was submerged under 2 feet of water.
