Modern Woodmen forming new local youth club

A new Modern Woodmen of America Youth Service Club is starting in Weatherford.

The club will have its first activity on Monday, June 10, at 1 p.m. at Braum’s, 1505 S. Main St. Children between the ages of 7 and 16 are invited to the activity to find out about the benefits of membership. Susan P. Key, of Weatherford, will lead the club and sponsor the club’s monthly activities.

“Since 1942 Modem Woodmen Youth Service Clubs have focused on volunteering, patriotism, education and fun. Currently 750 clubs across the country serve thousands of children,” said Key. “As a fraternal life insurer, our core values tie to helping children, their families and their communities. And that’s why we’re proud to sponsor positive activities for our members,” Key adds.

McDaniel is a 1986 graduate of Weatherford High School. The auction was sponsored by the Community Service Committee, chaired by Barbara Rothrock.
