PET OF THE WEEK: Dime hoping for change

Weatherford Democrat

— Meet Dime. He is a scruffy-looking purebred mutt.

He is the perfect size – not too big and not too small. Dime is neutered and ready to go home today.

When interviewed, Dime said, “he has met a lot of new friends, but that he is ready to meet his new owner.”

It is obvious that he is really looking forward to his new permanent home where he can relax and be loved.

If you might be interested in Dime or any of his other friends, they can be visited at the Weatherford Parker County Animal Shelter Tuesday –Saturday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., with extended hours on Wednesday and Friday until 6 p.m. You can also visit the animal shelter’s website and see all of Dime’s friends at

For the month of January, all adoptions are just $40 and include spaying/neutering, rabies vaccination, other core vaccinations, microchip and discounted pet insurance.

Shelter officials say they have about 150 animals ready and awaiting adoptions, a new home and a second chance.

For those who can’t adopt but would still like to help, Weatherford Parker County Animal Shelter always appreciates donations of cat litter, dog food, cat food, trash bags, cleaning supplies, and as well as monetary donations.
