Friendship Baptist Church sets goal to donate 100 hours of community service to Parker County with Impact Week

During the week of Sept. 30-Oct. 6, Friendship Baptist Church is having its first ever Impact Week. Over the course of this week, the church is setting a goal of donating 100 hours of community service to Parker County.

Each day, Friendship will be partnering with a different organization in the community with the goal of impacting Parker County with a tangible expression of God’s love.

Over the course of Impact Week, Friendship will be partnering each day, Monday through Saturday, with non-profit organizations and the cities of Weatherford and Springtown. Some of the organizations that Friendship will be serving alongside are Grace House, Neighbors to Neighbors, Manna Storehouse, Freedom House and the public parks of both Weatherford and Springtown.

“We see Impact Week as an exciting way for our church to partner with other organizations that are serving Parker County,” said Pastor Zach Crook. “We want to show God’s love to our community in a practical way. We know God has done so much for us and it compels us to serve others and love them in the same way that Christ has loved us.”

Friendship Baptist Church was established in Parker County in 1910, and the church has been serving the area for more than 100 years.

    Professional auctioneer Randall McDaniel conducted his fourth annual PCRTA auction of items donated by members on April 1. Several paddle wars transpired for popular items. Additionally, members participated in a silent auction, a first for the group. A total of $1,400 from the auction was contributed to the PCRTA’s operating fund. McDaniel is a 1986 graduate of Weatherford High School. The auction was sponsored by the Community Service Committee, chaired by Barbara Rothrock.
