A traffic stop Monday evening in the 200 block of Harcourt Street reportedly led to the arrest of a woman on a charge of marijuana possession less than 2 ounces. A Weatherford patrolman said a 2002 Volkswagen vehicle driven by Amy Nicole Briggs, 33, was stopped because it failed to signal a turn. The officer said Briggs was then in possession of a small amount of marijuana and two marijuana pipes. Briggs was taken into custody and booked into Parker County Jail, according to a report.
Public intoxication arrest
The night manager of a hotel in the 100 block of Interstate 20 called police about 9:27 p.m. Monday about a woman on the premises who appeared intoxicated. An officer arrived and found Leslie Jean Garrison, 32, who reportedly had “a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath,” glassy and bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. Garrison reportedly told the officer she had been drinking and was looking for a ride home. She was arrested for public intoxication and booked into Parker County Jail.
A 26-year-old man told police numerous items were taken from his vehicle Monday while it was parked in the 900 block of South Waco Street. The burglary reportedly occurred between 4 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Monday.
Parker County sheriff’s deputies responded Monday to the 600 block of Old Authon Road in reference to a stolen vehicle investigation where Patrick O’Malley Hanson, 27, allegedly just wrecked his girlfriend’s vehicle. Hanson reportedly did not have permission to have the vehicle and he was arrested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Aledo jewelry theft
ALEDO – A woman in the 300 block of Westgate Drive, in Aledo, stated that sometime between Sept. 4 and Monday someone entered the residence and removed four pieces of jewelry, valued at approximately $5,400. There were no signs of forced entry, and numerous people have had access to her home during that period since the house is for lease and is being shown, according to a sheriff’s department report.
A 45-year-old woman reported to the Parker County Sheriff’s Office that someone used her personal information to open three accounts in her name.
