2 arrested on drug charges after police conduct surveillance on S. Lamar home

A surveillance and traffic stop ended in two arrests for narcotics possession early Monday morning, Weatherford police say.

An officer reportedly saw a minivan leave a residence, which was being watched,  in the 1200 block of South Lamar Street at 4:17 a.m. The vehicle reportedly committed a traffic violation in the 1300 block of South Lamar Street and was stopped in the 600 block of West Park.

The driver was identified as Jonathan Waters, 26, of Aledo. A search of the vehicle allegedly yielded less than 28 grams of a controlled substance. Waters was charged with manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance and booked into Parker County Jail. Waters was released Monday afternoon on $2,500 bond.

At the residence on South Lamar Street, police found Megan Taylor Stevens, 21, inside. Stevens was allegedly in possession of less than 1 gram of heroin, less than 1 gram of methamphetamine and less than 28 grams of Suboxone (buprenorphine) in the amount of less than 28 grams. Suboxone is a prescription drug used to treat dependence on opioids, strong narcotic pain relievers.

Police said Stevens also had a warrant for Possession of marijuana out of Hood County. She was arrested on three drug possession counts and the outstanding warrant. She remained in Parker County Jail Tuesday evening on bonds totaling $10,000.

Guitar theft

A woman in the 1300 block of South Lamar Street reported theft of a guitar and black case, valued at $500. She said the guitar was taken by a 16-year-old female in July.
