Seven earthquakes have occurred in the northern Parker County area during the last week, including a 2.8-magnitude quake west of Briar early Monday morning.
A 3.0-magnitude earthquake occurred shortly before 2 p.m. Saturday south of Springtown, according to U.S. Geological Service data.
The earthquakes in the area began around 9:30 p.m. Nov. 5 with a 2.6-magnitude shaking in the Reno area, followed several minutes later by a 2.3 aftershock centered in the Newark area.
Other earthquakes included a 2.7 quake south of Springtown around 11 a.m. Nov. 6, a 2.8 quake east of Springtown around 10:30 p.m. Nov. 7, and a 2.4 quake near Azle around 9:30 p.m. Nov. 8.
