Calvary United Methodist Church to honor veterans

Traditionally, Calvary United Methodist Church honors and recognizes veterans on the Sunday before the national observance of Veterans Day.

This year, on Sunday, the church service will be dedicated to remembering veterans who have given service to our nation. Those who are no longer with us will be remembered. Veterans who have proudly served our nation as well as military personnel still wearing the uniform will be acknowledged with sincere gratitude.

The service will include patriotic music and appropriate tributes. Pastor John C. Johnson, a retired Air Force chaplain, invites all veterans, their families and all who love veterans to join in this special time of saying “thank you” for your part in preserving our freedom. The names of more than 45 veterans, representing just about every branch of service, is on the honor list.

The service is at 11 a.m. Sunday. Calvary UMC is located at 210 Garner Road, Weatherford, just off U.S. Highway 180 West.
