Event center hosts barn-raising

Weatherford Democrat

Many businesses boast old-fashioned country charm, but one Weatherford event center is bringing back old farm traditions to assemble the newest addition to its property: a 19th century barn.

On Monday, Hollow Hill Farm is hosting a barn-raising for the latest extension to the 40-acre countryside event center in Weatherford. The event begins at 10 a.m. and is open to the public. Hollow Hill Farm is located at 1680 Mary Drive, Weatherford, TX, 76085. Guests are invited to bring a picnic lunch and encouraged to bring work gloves to help in the old-fashioned barn-raising.

The timber-frame barn comes from Selkirk, N.Y., and dates back to the 1880s, refurbished by Heritage Barns in Waco. This century-old barn will be erected inside the existing steel-framed barn already located on the property. The outer, steel barn will protect the smaller timber-frame from environmental elements, but will still allow guests to enjoy every aspect and angle of the historic building. Hollow Hill Farm looks forward to hosting weddings and other events inside this newest addition.

For an indoor or outdoor ceremony, this family-run venue provides the perfect backdrop for a day of joyous and delightful celebration with family and friends. Visit for more information or to schedule a tour of the property.
