Parker County Republican Women’s guest speaker for their May meeting is Michelle Smith, State Director for Concerned Women for America.
Michelle Smith is the state director for Concerned Women for America of Texas Legislative Action committee. Mrs. Smith leads CWA of Texas in coordinating Prayer/Action Chapters state-wide to first pray, then educate, and motivate both women and like-minded men to take action on issues of faith and family. She also oversees lobbying efforts at the State Capitol in Austin on a wide range of pro-family issues. Currently CWA of Texas has over 25,000 members in the State of Texas.
Previously, Michelle served as a city council member for the City of Rockwall. She worked as the State Coalition’s Director for Rick Santorum for President, Field Representative for Governor Rick Perry during his 2010 gubernatorial race, worked on the campaign staff for State Representative Bryan Hughes, and most recently worked for Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott in his bid for governor before stepping up to serve as state director for CWA.
Since 2010, Michelle has worked on legislation on the local, state, and national levels.
Michelle has been married to her husband Kurtis for 20 years, and they have three children – one daughter, 19, in college and two boys, ages 15 and 14, and they currently reside in Rockwall.
The Parker County Republican Meeting will be held May 8 at the Doss Heritage & Culture Center. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m., and the meeting will begin at noon. The Doss Heritage & Culture Center is located on the corner of Park Street and Texas Street.
