The April Weatherford Art Association meeting at the Firehouse Gallery featured a watercolor portrait demonstration from guest artist Sarah Graham Hardin of Fort Worth. 

Member voting for artist of the month selected a pastel drawing titled, ‘On the Rio Grande II,’ by Julie Fox for first place. Julie’s art will be on display at the First Financial Bank on the Weatherford Square. 

Second place was presented to Linda Whitehouse for her oil painting titled, ‘Time.’ Linda’s work is on display at the Fort Worth Credit Union until the end of May. 

Third place was presented to Jay Summers for his painting titled, ‘Arcadia Lighthouse.’ Jay’s art is on display at the 1st National Bank on Palo Pinto.

Art Camp for students ages 6 to 12 is underway. Art camp begins June 2. Classes are held at the Firehouse Gallery Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon for a cost of $12 per child per week. The May meeting of the WAA will feature guest artist James Spurlock with a demonstration of water based oil paints. Meetings are held at the Firehouse Gallery at 119 Palo Pinto the fourth Monday of the month. Guests are always welcome.
