POLICE BLOTTER: recumbent trike stolen, returned

Following are some of the offenses, investigations and calls for service reported by the Weatherford Police Department for the period 6 a.m. Thursday to 6 p.m. Friday:

Trike stolen, returned

A man in the 400 block of South Rusk Street reported theft of his recumbent trike, valued at $1,000. The trike was later recovered and returned to its owner.

Purse stolen

A 22-year-old woman reported the theft of her dime bag purse in the 1400 block of Holland Lake Drive. The purse reportedly contained a wallet, debit, card, Taser, a game system and other contents, valued at a combined $345.

2:25 p.m., scam-fraud, 1800 block of South Main Street.

2:29 p.m., theft 100 block of North Main Street.

3:21 p.m., scam-fraud, 800 block of Santa Fe Drive.

3:58 p.m., theft, 1800 block of South Main Street.

4:30 p.m., domestic disturbance,

200 block of South Line Street.

4:39 p.m., hit-and-run wreck, 1500 block of Santa Fe Drive.

6:18 p.m., theft, 1400 block of Holland Lake Drive.

9:36 p.m., domestic disturbance, 1000 block of West Oak Street.

11:02 p.m., loud music, 600 block of Jameson Street.

11:22 p.m., public intoxication, 2000 block of Clear Lake Road.

Friday

12:09 a.m., intoxicated driver, 200 block of Sweetwater Drive.

12:37 a.m., suspicious person, 400 block of Harcourt Street.

1:44 a.m., suspicious person, 100 block of West Interstate 20.

2:02 a.m., suspicious vehicle, 1400 block of Holland Lake Drive.

3:05 a.m., suspicious person, 1400 block of South Main Street.

    ST. LOUIS — Johnathon Taylor Soulis, of Weatherford, was named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2014 semester at Washington University in St. Louis. Soulis is enrolled in the university’s School of Engineering and Applied Science.

  • Driver speed, seatbelt compliance surveys show improvements

    The Weatherford Police Department utilized grant funding from the Texas Department of Transportation to fund overtime salaries for extra enforcement during the week of the Fourth of July. The extra patrols worked to ensure drivers were complying with posted speed limits, wearing seatbelts and were not driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol in an effort to keep our local roadways safe.
