Area man charged in stabbing

WEATHERFORD — A 33-year-old man was booked into the Parker County jail Tuesday on a warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after an alleged May stabbing.

A woman told authorities she had been in an abusive relationship with Oscar Goparmelo for years and told him to move out of her Springtown area home when he stabbed her in the neck and arm, according to the arrest warrant affidavit.

According to information provided by the Parker County Sheriff’s Office in May, the 41-year-old woman escaped her home in the 4000 block of U.S. Highway 199 East and called 911 from a neighbor’s house during the evening of May before being transported to the hospital by ambulance.

Goparmelo was reportedly not on scene when deputies arrived.

Deputies found the woman with a large amount of blood on her shirt and she told them her boyfriend had stabbed her with a pocket knife, according to the affidavit.

The woman reportedly said she had moved to get away from him, but he moved in with her earlier this year and she was afraid to force him out of the house.

She said he had threatened to kill her, the affidavit states.

The woman told authorities she had asked him to move out when he became angry and pushed her down, causing her to hit her head, according to the statement.

He then used a pocket knife to stab her, she alleged in the affidavit.

The warrant was issued May 26.

Goparmelo was reportedly booked into the Tarrant County Jail last week on other charges before being booked into the Parker County Jail Tuesday with bond set at $50,000.

He is also being held on an Immigrations and Customs Enforcement hold.
