An informative program on how to grow one’s own peaches will be presented Dec. 10 at the Parker County Agricultural Services Center, 604 N. Main St., in Weatherford.
The program begins at 6:30 p.m.
Guest speaker Bob Whitney will discuss site preparation, recommended varieties, planting and training young trees, fertility and water requirements, tree pruning, how to control insects and disease, thinning the crop and harvesting. Whitney will also be available to answer any questions from the audience.
Cost for the program is $10 per person (cash or check only) and may be payable at the door.
For anyone attending with a pesticide applicator’s license, one CEU will be offered toward recertification.
