WC announces alumni honorees

A Realtor with Century 21 Judge Fite, she was named a Centurion Hall of Fame Member for the production of $6 million a year in real estate sales.

Brinkley has served as a member of the Weatherford ISD Board of Trustees, the Parker County Hospital District Board of Directors and many other positions of leadership. She was a recipient of the 2011 Athena Award for Leadership from the Weatherford Chamber of Commerce.

Jamie and her husband, Michael, recently established an endowed scholarship with the WC Foundation in honor of Michael’s parents, Charles and Polly Brinkley. Jamie also served on the steering committee for “Reminiscing with the Speaker,” a 2001 WC Foundation fundraiser luncheon honoring Speaker Jim Wright which raised more than $20,000 for scholarships.

Snow is also a Weatherford native, graduating from WHS in 1966, WC in 1968 and the University of Texas in 1970.

With fellow WC alumnus Wayne Garrett, Snow established the CPA firm Snow, Garrett & Company in 1978. Now known as Snow Garrett Williams, the company has grown to 30 employees and has more than 2,500 clients.

Snow received the 2011 James H. Doss Award for philanthropy from the Weatherford Chamber of Commerce.

Gary and his wife, Linda, recently made a significant gift to the WC Foundation to support the recent capital campaign. In honor of their contribution, the WC Board of Trustees named a classroom in the Academic Building the Gary and Linda Snow Classroom.

    ST. LOUIS — Johnathon Taylor Soulis, of Weatherford, was named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2014 semester at Washington University in St. Louis. Soulis is enrolled in the university’s School of Engineering and Applied Science.

  • Driver speed, seatbelt compliance surveys show improvements

    The Weatherford Police Department utilized grant funding from the Texas Department of Transportation to fund overtime salaries for extra enforcement during the week of the Fourth of July. The extra patrols worked to ensure drivers were complying with posted speed limits, wearing seatbelts and were not driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol in an effort to keep our local roadways safe.
