PARKER COUNTY — Road rage indictments

Williams James Carr, 60, of Poolville, was indicted on charges of aggravated assault and two counts of deadly conduct regarding an Oct. 16 road rage incident.

Carr told deputies he intentionally shot out the rear window of a car that he claimed cut him off, according to a statement from the Parker County Sheriff’s Office.

The complainant, a driver of a Ford Mustang, told deputies that he changed lanes on Ranger Highway near the intersection of Bowie Drive, believing he’d given the truck behind him enough room. However, he said he heard a loud “popping” noise near the intersection of Greenwood Road.

He initially thought he’d blown a tire but realized his back windshield had shattered. He pulled over near Jones Road and called authorities, according to the sheriff’s office.

Carr reportedly pulled over in front of the Mustang and approached the car, when the Mustang driver pulled out his own weapon and held Carr at gunpoint until law enforcement arrived.

A bullet fragment was located in the Mustang and deputies collected both men’s weapons and ammunition, according to the sheriff’s office.

Carr was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Caleb Nicholas Sills, 19, was indicted on a two charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after, police say, he threatened a 20-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man with a handgun and threatened to kill the woman during a road rage incident.

Shortly before 3:30 p.m. Oct. 27, Weatherford police were dispatched to the 700 block of Adams drive in reference to a call about a man with a gun.

The man and woman told police that the man displayed a handgun and said he was going to kill the woman.

The complainants reportedly followed the suspect’s truck to the 2200 block of Quail Ridge Drive, where police arrived and brought the man out of the house to talk to him.

“I didn’t pull a gun on anyone,” Sills allegedly told officers before they mentioned that a gun was involved.

Sills reportedly gave consent to search his truck, where officers reported finding the box for a Smith and Wesson .22 revolver and a box of .22-caliber rounds.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Sills also gave consent to search his room and told officers that they would not find a gun.

However, officers wrote they found the Smith and Wesson revolver under clothes in the closet.
