MILLSAP MATTERS: Millsap church reaches out

(Continued)

This seasonal business has become a tradition in these parts and is located on the north side of U.S. Highway 180 just east of Cool. Think I’ll go get some of those potatoes!

Some ladies in our area are looking forward to a yearly event in Poolville. The ladies of that town invite women from the surrounding communities to an evening of visiting and learning. On June 22 all the ladies will gather at 6 p.m. for a meal and program. This year the speaker will teach about canning. If interested in attending call (940) 682-4436. This is always very enjoyable, so we hope all of the ladies have as much fun as usual.

Walden’s anniversary celebration was a wonderful time for the community and customers. The party was a full blown country extravaganza with delicious free food and drinks and booths set up with very good information on a number of subjects.

Some of the subjects addressed included animal care,  gardening tips and lawn care. There was a roping expert on hand to teach some tricks and give tips, and the kids especially enjoyed this. Literally hundreds of prizes from small to large were given away, and radio station QXFM was broadcasting as well as giving away Texas Rangers items.

This was a very generous thank you from the Waldens to the community, and we wish them many more great years of business.

Here are some dates for Millsap: May 30-31, schools’ early release at 1 p.m.; June 1, high school graduation; June 5-26, library summer hours are 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Hope you all have a safe and good Memorial Day, and thanks for reading!
