MILLSAP MATTERS: A line on new fishing team

(Continued)

While vehicle/train collisions have decreased in the past few years, pedestrians involved in train collisions has increased. Before the warning devices were installed at the Millsap crossing there were a number of fatalities over the years. The devices are a great help, but as we all are used to crossing the tracks without really thinking, please always take time to look and listen as the devices have been known to malfunction. Hope this helps keep someone safe.

As time draws near for the Millsap School’s Annual Reunion, the organizers want to remind everyone of the details. The event will take place on April 27, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. The new location is the Millsap Elementary Cafetorium, where a covered dish lunch will be served at noon. All past and present teachers will be special guests. And while the Class of 1963 will receive special recognition as the 50-Year Class, all classes will be honored. All alumni are asked to bring scrap books and annuals for display and sharing memories. Everyone who has ever had connections to Millsap Schools is invited to this wonderful party.

Also, as Holders Chapel will have its Spring Festival in just about three weeks on Saturday, April 20,  items are coming in for all of the selling events that they will have that day. Remember to get up and over there early as they will start the yard sale around 7 a.m. Then be prepared to shop the bake sale, the silent auction and buy some tickets on the beautiful queen-sized quilt that will be raffled off. If you can’t make it early, or have spent the morning and need lunch, hotdog plates will be $5 and hamburger plates will go for $6 – these include a drink. This is going to be a lot of fun so come on out and support this wonderful church family.
