MILLSAP MATTERS: Masonic Lodge installs officers

It’s going to be a busy week at Midpoint Chapel, 2312 South FM Road 113, as the church family will be joined by Eleventh Avenue church for VBS. Each evening, July 29-Aug. 2, there will be supper, Bible lessons, crafts and games. All ages are welcome to participate from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. For more info call 940-682-4436. An enriching time for the entire family!

A reminder that plans are in full swing for the Second Annual Back-to-School Fair which will be held at Millsap City Hall. On Aug. 10, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., there will be supplies given out to all ages of our school kids. There will be vouchers for haircuts and plans are for medical personnel to be on site to give needed immunizations. Donations are needed, so if you can help call 940-353-7496 or 940-682-7446.

Another worthy cause on Aug. 10 is a housewarming for Triumph House will be held at the Millsap Community Center, 10 a.m.-noon. This is a community event and has sponsors of the City of Millsap, Millsap VFD and Joy’s Shear Creations, with many others rapidly jumping on board to help supply this safe house for girls, ages 10-17 years, who have been rescued from human trafficking.

Triumph House, under faith-based non-profit Traffick 911, is preparing to open this summer and there are a multitude of needs. This is a much-needed facility as Homeland Security has targeted Parker County as one of two counties in North Texas requiring immediate attention on the problem of human trafficking.

Millsap First Baptist Church is taking care of the details of the housewarming and you are welcome to bring items, or a monetary donation to the community center. There is also registration at Target and Bed Bath & Beyond under the name Triumph House.
