MILLSAP MATTERS: Local sign language classes are offered

(Continued)

Elementary school personnel remind everyone that the spring submission deadline for box tops is Feb. 26. These pink and white rectangles, which are found on many food containers, are worth 10 cents each to the school, and the money can be used for whatever the school needs.

Our elementary school is saving for an electronic sign to be placed in front of the school on FM Road 113. Lots of products have bonus box tops on them during this season, so please check all your food products and clip the box tops to help our elementary.

If you don’t have a student in the elementary to send the box tops with, you are always welcome to drop them off at the office. If we all help, that sign will soon be in front of the school!

The Millsap Water Supply Corporation recently held its monthly meeting and the February agenda included discussion on retirement of Pump Station No. 2. Also on the agenda was discussion about rate increase from the City of Mineral Wells, plus possible additional changes to customer installation costs. The corporation is still keeping customers in Stage 2 of water conservation and drought contingency which was began November 2013.

This is in agreement and cooperation with the City of Mineral Wells due to water levels in Lake Palo Pinto. The board and workers are commended on all of their efforts to keep the taps flowing with water. The office is located at 111 N.E. Front Street and phone is 940-682-4416 for questions or help.

Note to all City of Millsap residents: The last day to file for a place on the City of Millsap Council is Feb. 28. Go by City Hall and see City Manager Mark Barnes, who is the filing officer, to get an application. Hours of operation for City Hall are Mondays-Fridays, 8 a.m.-noon and 1-5 p.m.
