MILLSAP MATTERS: Millsap United Methodist Church spruces up exterior

By SHARRON HUDSON

MILLSAP – As each day brings more hours of daylight, that means we have more time to get outside and begin to spruce things up for Spring.

One organization in town has recently accomplished much on this front.

The congregation of Millsap United Methodist Church, under the leadership of Pastor James Sanders, has paved their parking lot and got a beautiful new sign. The parking lot looks great and the sign is a symbol of the cross and flame made out of heavy metal.

This group invites everyone to worship with them in Sunday School at 8:45 a.m. and worship service at 9:30 a.m. They are very gracious people and reach out to the community in a variety of ways, and we are thankful that they have been blessed with some new upgrades.

While spring break for the school district is March 11-15, much work is being done on the yearbook, which will be submitted for printing during the break. The elementary school is asking that anyone who has pictures of any school function taken this year that they are willing to share in the annual, send them to cbradshaw@millsapisd.net. Extra pics are always needed, and they would be much appreciated.

Also, orders are being taken for the yearbooks (cost $10), and it is best to pre-order since there will be a limited amount available. For more info drop by any campus or call 940-682-4994.

Congratulations to Millsap ISD Superintendent David Belding on being selected by the magazine Parker County Today as one of the top 100 people in the county that folks would want to meet.

This “social bucket list” is chosen each year. There are people from all walks of life included on the list such as singers, doctors, CEOs and volunteers. Each person chosen has a biography written, and Mr. Belding’s was very informative. It gave info about his entire career and hit upon some personal notes, such as he loves to play the drums.
