MILLSAP – As the month of December with all of its activities is moving along at lightning speed, parties and celebrations are going on galore. The latest one in our area was the Christmas party hosted by the City of Cool.
The Cool City Hall, which was ornamented in beautiful outside lights and decorations, was the welcoming spot for guests. Everything inside was Christmas with a beautiful tree plus meal tables adorned with poinsettias.
Council members were dressed in their Christmas finery to graciously welcome everyone. The supper was catered by Pulidos and the smell of all the delicious food wafted through the air. There was salsa and chips on every table to get appetites in working order for all of the tasty food.
The dessert table boasted a multitude of homemade items from the kitchen of Barbara Rothrock. Some of her specialties included divinity and peanut patties. Door prizes were the table decoration poinsettias. This was a lovely event, and one council member remarked that they enjoy doing it for everyone and hope more people come each year.
Organizers with the Millsap Community Christmas Angels are seeing that boys and girls are provided gifts for Christmas.
To sign up a child call Michelle Brian at 940-452-8844. Paperwork includes a picture ID for parents, certified/original child’s birth certificate, child’s Social Security card (no copies) and proof of income. To adopt one of the angels you can go to the Millsap Elementary School office or Joy’s Shear Creations on Fairview Road (east of the Millsap Post Office). The gifts will be ready on Dec. 18. This is a great cause, so please help if possible.
Two young men who are Millsap graduates are to be recognized for reaching the same important milestone in their lives. PFC Andrew D. Norman graduated Marine Corps boot camp on Nov. 15 and PFC Jonathan Cribbs attained this same status on Nov. 22. Both Marines took their training in San Diego. Congratulations and best wishes Andrew and Jonathan!
