Spokesperson Kathy Brogdon said this was truly a beautiful time where many hearts were touched. Thanks pantry volunteers, sponsor Millsap First Baptist and our community for making Thanksgiving a bountiful day for those who were in need.
Many plans are in the final stages for Millsap’s annual Christmas tree lighting on Dec. 14. The event will be centered at Heritage Park with a crafts bazaar beginning at 10 a.m. and going until dark. Entries in the chili cook off should be at City Hall by 3:30 p.m. and judging will take place at 4 p.m.
The parade will begin at 5 p.m. at the old football field parking lot. Line up a minimum of 30 minutes prior to parade start. The parade will end at Heritage Park and Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there to greet the kids and for photos. Mickey and Minnie Mouse and other cartoon characters will be a part of the evening and there will be face painting.
Complimentary refreshments for the evening will include hot dogs, chili, cookies, and drinks. Community, please bring chili and cookies to help out. We invite everyone to join us for this fantastic time.
