MILLSAP – While crisp autumn days are here, there are many wonderful fall and winter activities just around the corner. In this vein, Millsap elementary students are preparing a season of entertainment.
Under the direction of music teacher Missy Dunn and P.E. teacher Michael Humphrey, the youngsters are practicing for their annual cold-weather musical programs. The third-grade classes are going to present a Thanksgiving medley in early November. Fourth and fifth graders are working on a Christmas play, while kindergartners through second graders are slated to present a cute Christmas “Moosical.” These are great opportunities for the children to hone their artistic talents in an enjoyable way.
The Third Annual Ticket Lady Trot was a great success with perfect weather for the run and some great competitors. The overall winners were Matt Nourkaff and Rachel Daldos. Longtime area resident Fred Evans completed the run in the 60-plus category. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go into the Mary Aaron Memorial Scholarship Fund.
The Ticket Lady Trot Committee sends special thanks to all of the participants, volunteers, supporters, Millsap ISD, Millsap VFD and Millsap cheerleaders. They appreciate sponsors Mineral Wells Anytime Fitness, First National Bank of Santo, Tate’s Total Gym, Creek Services and TLS Sportswear. Mrs. Aaron’s family and many friends who support this yearly event want everyone to know that all of this is for the kids that Mary loved.
The ladies of Holders Chapel Methodist Church have a monthly event that they very much enjoy. They choose a restaurant that may be local or as far away as Fort Worth or Stephenville and carpool there for a fellowship lunch. It is informal and sometimes includes a devotional message or discussion of up and coming church events. At the forefront of present plans is preparation to choose and shop for needy kids/families for Christmas. The women will have their next luncheon on Oct. 31. They invite all ladies to join in this wonderful time of visiting. For details call 940-682-4386.
