Some of these included checking into building a pavilion and adding parking spaces, having markers that were in disrepair redone and checking for unknown graves with sonar. A committee has been formed to work on getting the graveyard designated as a historical cemetery. New officers are President Sally Uribe, Vice President Bernardo Ortiz, Secretary Brenda Doss, Treasurer Nicolasa (Nicki) Presser and board member Emeritus Urlinda Ortiz. A productive meeting with some innovative decisions made for the preservation of this resting place.
Millsap ISD has partnered with the Parker County SWAT Team to support training exercises of the team. The team requested use of the Millsap Middle School to conduct training for officers. Millsap ISD agreed to open the facility and to assist in any way possible with the training needs. This will be done with two sessions held after school hours, and will involve law enforcement activity around the school. It’s great that Millsap can help law enforcement so we can all stay protected.

Nov. 11 is Veterans Day. This national holiday began as Armistice Day in 1919 to mark the end of World War I. President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed this special day which honored all the soldiers who died and the heroism of all served. It was dedicated to world wide peace and justice. The day went through several changes by the government through the years, and was officially designated by Congress as Veterans Day in 1954. To each Veteran, thank you for your service.
