MILLSAP – With the first day of fall officially being Sept. 22, we will need to start keeping closer tabs on changing weather conditions. For residents of Millsap that has become much easier since we now have our own weather station.
The Millsap Weatherbug is an online weather center powered by Earth Networks, which is based in Maryland, and provides weather through more than 8,000 stations. The station has minute-to-minute live conditions, Doppler Radar and ozone levels, plus anything else applicable to local weather conditions.
The Weatherbug is linked through Millsap ISD, or just type Millsap Weatherbug into a browser and its webpage can be found. What a wonderful convenience for the community.
The Millsap Community Support Group is a new endeavor being formed by people interested in helping people. They are looking for those who would like to be involved in the planning and development of the group. They would like someone from each school campus and each Millsap church to come on board.
This would become the core group to contact in case families need community support during a crisis, or in the event of any community needs. If interested contact Donna Anderson or Donna Edwards by calling 940-682-4390 and leaving a message, or send them an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. This is a very much needed organization, so please help if possible.
A very well-known lady, Mrs. Jean Guess, recently passed away in Weatherford. She and husband Curtis enjoyed making their home in Millsap and were a part of the well-known Guess family from these parts. Mrs. Guess’ greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. She was known as a great cook and an avid Texas Rangers fan. She leaves behind daughter, Vickie Durant and her husband, Jerry, grandchildren Brian and Diane Durant, and a large extended family.
