A Lone Star Christmas Friday night at Texas Opry House

Carey Dyer, Lani Bartley Stacy, Abbey Cone, Alecia Echols and Mike Echols with The Amazing Made In Texas Show Time Band are reuniting for an evening of high-energy entertainment.

“A Lone Star Christmas” show is Friday at Texas Opry Theater in downtown Weatherford. The show starts at 8 p.m. and tickets can be purchased online at texasoprytheater.com or at the box office at 315 York Ave, or by calling 817-341-1000.

Dyer was an original member of The Granbury Live Cast before transferring to Fredericksburg to the Rockbox Theater. He is now back home in Granbury as music minister at Lakeside Baptist Church and will be a regular on many of the productions at The Texas Opry Theater.

Dyer is Ray Charles, Johnny Mathis, Sonny, Smokey and Hank rolled into one. But underneath the wigs, makeup, and polyester he is considered a multitalented showman, singer and actor who will electrify the Texas Opry Theater stage not only Friday evening but again on Jan. 11.

"I have always been a borderline hyperactive guy," Dyer admitted. "Just ask my wife, bless her heart; she has to live with me."

Along with Dyer, the entire show promises to be high energy.

"If you enjoy it and put yourself into it, people are going to respond and have a good time," Dyer said. "I have a real passion for writing and arranging music. “That's what I do when I get up early in morning. I love to create music. I just love the rich harmonic texture of human voice. I am always curious how a house performer can sing the same songs night after night, year after year. Where do they get the juice to give 100 percent every night?”

Dyer said to some it can seem each show is the same, but they aren't.
