It’s a rockin’ Christmas Saturday at Texas Opry Theater

On a special note Saturday’s show will also feature a very special guest from the North Pole. Santa Claus will be on hand to meet and greet all of the patrons in attendance and even pose to have your picture made with the man in the red suit. Sue Coleman with Flashfire Studios will be snapping the pictures and the Zonta elves will be printing them out on the spot. Thanks go to the generosity of the local Office Max for the loan of a photo printer and donation of the ink and photo paper. A nominal donation to the Zonta Club would be appreciated and you can sure it will used locally for their good works in our community.

Members of Parker County Zonta Club are sponsoring disadvantaged children from the Pythian Home, Freedom House and A Place For Grace. There will be a small army of children there to see the show, visit with Santa and partake in the Christmas spirit of the Holidays. The Zonta Club will be raffling off a couple of very nice gift baskets and will have goodie bags for our Senior Citizens.

The Zonta Club of Parker County works in the community to advance the status of women, not only locally but worldwide through service and advocacy. The local group participates in many service projects including delivering Meals On Wheels every Friday for the past 11 years; working with Freedom House with their Victims Vigil and annual Garden Safari; teaming with the Parker County Health Foundation to present the Pink Luncheon; aiding the Parker County Attorney’s Office in their Crime Victims Art Show; providing conference sponsorships for Grace after Fire, an organization to help returning women vets integrate back into home life; raising funds for local girls and women to receive scholarships; and this year participating in the Habitat for Humanity Home build.

Zonta is a non-profit organization whose international projects include providing fellowships for women post-graduate students who are entering the aeronautics and engineering field, helping eradicate mother-to-child HIV transmissions and providing safe harbor for abuse victims in Central America and the Honduras.

Zonta Club of Parker County meets at 11:30 a.m. the first Wednesday of each month at Weatherford College of Fine Arts Center at 225 College Park Drive. For more information contact Membership Chair Julie Lundy at 817-598-6387 or President Peggy Hutton at 817-594-3801.

The Texas Opry Theater will like to Thank many area banks, Snow & Garrett Financial Planners and Weatherford College for displaying information about this show on their electronic digital signs all over town.
