Weather continues to cause print edition delivery problems

The good thing about an eEdition is that, as long as their is power on the publisher's end and the customer has power and Internet service - either wired or wireless - the newspaper can be easily delivered, read and enjoyed.

Sometimes, getting the print edition out our door and into yours is not so easy. Such is the case under the current icy conditions.

Friday's print editions of the WD, along with sister publications the Cleaburne Times-Review and Mineral Wells Index, all printed in Weatherford, could not be delivered because of hazardous road conditions caused by an area-wide layer of up to 3 inches of ince and sleet.

The print editions were delivered to our subscribers' inboxes.

Plans were to use a potential Saturday morning and afternoon window to print the Sunday editions of all three newspapers and then have carriers throw both the Friday and Sunday editions to home customers on Saturday.

However, that plan looks uncertain as production employees of the WD are not able at this time to make it to the office without considerable personal risk, as well as the risk carriers would face trying to navigate the ice-covered roadways.

If the papers are not printed and delivered today, plans are to print and deliver them - both Friday's and Sunday's editions - sometime Sunday, probably during the afternoon when hopefully area road conditions will improve.

We remind subscribers to look for the electronic editions of the WD, Times-Review and the Index in their email as usual, and we ask for and appreciate the patience and understanding of those who rely on print deliveries of these newspapers. Sometimes, Mother Nature cannot be overcome.

If you do not have an All-Access subscription to Weatherford Democrat, look at the site navigation buttons on the lefthand side and click on "Subscriber Services" to get set up.

Thank you again for your support and understanding. We also urge everyone today, if you absolutely do not have to be out, to stay home and stay safe until road conditions improve.
