Cook Children’s Medical Hospital plans to build professional medical offices north of I-30 on the east side of the nearly complete Walsh Creek Parkway, according to Stacey Jandrucko, real estate director for the Walsh Ranch development.
“In the future, they also plan on a diagnostic/emergency/light surgery center — like an urgent care center — on the south side of I-30, almost across from their location on the north side,” she said.
The hospital is the first commercial venture to announce construction plans in the 7,300-acre master planned community east of Aledo, Jandrucko said.
“We’ve had so much interest, but we haven’t spoken in earnest because we haven’t begun the development,” she said. “A lot has been from banks and churches, but we have no formal agreements for specific sites.”
Jandrucko said work on Walsh Ranch Parkway, the development’s main north-south corridor, should be finished by March, about the same time a construction contract is to be let for the $13.9 million interchange on I-30 that will provide access.
The interchange — key to opening development — should take between 12 and 18 months to complete, she said.
