PARKER COUNTY — The Weatherford mother who, after watching her boyfriend allegedly brutally beat and kill her 18-month-old daughter, reportedly admitted to helping bury the girl under a bridge in northern Parker County was arrested Tuesday evening on warrants.
Alexis Botello, 17-year-old mother of Tylea Moore, has been charged with tampering with evidence and injury to a child, according to Arlington jail records, which show bond has been set at $125,000 on the charges.
Her boyfriend, 20-year-old Joshua Markus Ryan Beard, of Arlington, has been charged with capital murder in the death of Tylea and remained in the Arlington jail Tuesday evening with bond set at $1 million.
Botello reportedly told Arlington police detectives Sunday that Beard killed the girl Friday and the two buried the toddler, clad in a diaper and wrapped in a blue blanket, under rural road bridge spanning a creek.
Authorities Monday reportedly recovered the body of a toddler believed to be Tylea Moore from under a bridge in the 1900 block of Sarra Lane.
According to a search warrant affidavit, Beard’s aunt contacted police July 6 about the missing child when Botello apparently lied to the aunt about where the child was located. Beard had been arrested July 5 on unrelated warrants and was in the Arlington jail at the time, according to records.
When Arlington police arrived at the hotel where Botello had been staying, Botello initially told officers that she didn’t know where Tylea was, then said that Beard had killed her daughter two days prior, on July 4.
She reportedly said that Beard didn’t mean to do it.
According to police, Botello told officers that Beard had been pushing and yelling at Tylea and that he yelled and hit Botello when she yelled at him to stop, telling him that Tylea was just a baby.
