Hooks Lincoln leaving Hudson Oaks

Dealership reopening Saturday in west Fort Worth

By BRIAN SMITH

HUDSON OAKS – Dennis Hooks has watched his Lincoln dealership grow over the last quarter of a century.

Beginning Saturday, he will continue that growth in a new location.

Hooks Lincoln, on Fort Worth Highway in Hudson Oaks, will be leaving the location and moving 14 miles east to its new location at 8900 West Freeway in Fort Worth. Hooks said he had the opportunity to grow the business and the time was right to do so.

“We had the opportunity to pick up the Tarrant County trade area, as there hasn’t been a Lincoln dealership in Fort Worth for about four years and we decided to do so,” Hooks said. “We’ll still serve the residents of Parker County as we have for many years. We’ll just now be doing it from Fort Worth.”

Hooks insists the move is nothing against the City of Hudson Oaks or the Weatherford area. He said he is leaving the area with mixed emotions.

“I’ve loved watching this business grow from its former tin roof shack to here to where we are over the last 26, 27 years,” Hooks said. “There are no better people than the ones in Parker County who will hopefully make the move with us.”

Hooks serves as mayor of Weatherford and insists he is not be leaving the area personally.

“We’ll be moving the dealership but we love Weatherford too much to leave it,” Hooks said. “We’ve had other opportunities to leave the area over the years but have turned them down because we love Parker County and Weatherford. My sons, Kip and Kory, will be going to the new dealership as will all our employees. It’s simply a good move for us.”

No business is scheduled to move into the Hudson Oaks dealership at the present time.
